What To Do?
or...
OK. I figure I have at least 4 people who check my blog once in a while - so I'll put this to you for your comments: What the hell do I do with Can't Get Left?
I've been doing this blog for two and a half years and its been very cathartic. I really enjoy blogging. Up until a couple weeks ago, I could blog away and write anything I wanted and no one really tracked it at work. Or if they did they either enjoyed it (maybe?) or just didn't care that much. Now, I have a new title at work that comes with a lot more visibility in a pretty conservative company. Let me red state, ah, I mean re-state: a VERY conservative company. I am, today a Google away from someone discovering that I don't approve of Bush. Or that I drop the occasional (OK frequent) F-Bomb. I used to give my old boss shit for not blogging but now I can kind of understand why he didn't.
So I have some choices when it comes to the future of Can't Get Left:
a) stop blogging. This would certainly give me more time but it would also cut a piece out of me
b) pass word protect my blog and keep going the way I always have - but no one would read it
c) take on radically different blog persona's from time to time and switch content, theme, POV's so abruptly that no one can tell if I'm serious or not - might be fun
d) blog about mobile technology. That would be good for extra credit at work...but Yeah, I know...YAWN. Plus it would force me to do the unimaginable: blog+think
e) open a new blog and keep it anonymous
f) just blog about safe things like family, gardens, hot dogs, flags and ....I'm putting myself to sleep
g) keep on pace and, in fact, just get NASTIER, swear more, poke fun at the constitution, you know, bad stuff. Be a corporate blog rebel.
Its not like I write about anything that profound or offensive anyway. Help me figure this out. Stella, Robin, Drew, Andy, Jana, Heather, George, what would you do?
